The site vel.studio is published by VEL SYSTEMS, under the brand Vel Studio.

This site

The pages themselves set no cookie, carry no tracker, collect no personal data and make no call to a third-party service when they load: the fonts and the images they load come from vel.studio itself. What the host records and what an e-mail leaves behind are set out below.

Hosting and connection logs

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. To serve and protect it, Cloudflare processes technical connection logs, which include your IP address. Those logs stay with the host and are not passed on to the publisher.

E-mail

E-mails sent to privacy@vel.studio are kept for the time the correspondence lasts.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may ask for access to your data, for its rectification or its erasure, and you may object to its processing. Write to privacy@vel.studio. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority.

Applications

Cadence is an application of Vel Studio. The sections that follow describe the data of Cadence. VEL SYSTEMS is the controller of that data.

Cadence: what stays on your device

Cadence works without an account. Your profile (sex at birth, date of birth, height, weight, goal and your answer to the question about a health situation), your journal, your recipes and your settings stay on your device. We have no access to them. When you delete the application, this data is erased.

Cadence: Apple Health

If you allow it, Cadence reads from Apple Health your steps, your walking distance, the flights of stairs you climb and your stand time, to estimate your activity of the day. This data stays on your device. It goes to nobody and it is never used for advertising. You can remove this access in the Health settings.

Cadence: camera, photos and shared links

The camera only reads a barcode. The image is not kept and not sent. If you pick a screenshot in Photos to import a recipe, your device reads its text itself, and the image does not leave the phone. When you share a recipe to Cadence, the application opens the page of the link itself. For a TikTok or YouTube link, it asks that service for the title and the author of the video.

Cadence: food search and recipes

When you search for a food or read a barcode, the search text or the code goes to our server, which queries the Open Food Facts data. The request carries no name and no identifier. The recipe catalogue downloads from the same server.

Cadence: your feedback

When you report a problem or give your opinion, Cadence sends your message to our server. It goes with the open screen, the versions of the application and of the system, an identifier drawn at random at installation and, if you give it, your e-mail address. The message, the reason, the reported item (for example a food, a search or a barcode), the screen, the versions, the environment of the application and the number of the feedback also reach a private channel of our team on Discord, without the e-mail address and without the installation identifier. We keep this feedback for twelve months at most, then we erase it. To have feedback erased sooner, write to privacy@vel.studio.

Cadence: crashes

When the application crashes, a technical report goes to Sentry. It contains the trace of the error, the device model, the system version and the application version. It contains no name and no e-mail address. A summary of the error reaches the private channel of our team on Discord. Sentry also receives the start and the end of each session of use, without identity, to count the sessions without a crash.

Cadence: what we do not do

Cadence shows no advertising, carries no advertising tracker and sells no data. It does not follow what you do in the application. Reminders are notifications that your device schedules itself. Cadence is for adults.

Functional Software, Inc. (Sentry)

Crash reports and sessions. Hosted in Germany.

Discord Inc.

The private channel where the team reads the feedback and the crash summaries. Hosted in the United States.
